Where is GiGi?…
OK, so it’s Spring Break for the kids…what to do…what to
do…GOIN’ to GiGi (according to Chelsie Horner, the Original) and Pops in Memphis! We joined the Horner family on a trip to Memphis
to visit the Able Family, see the Memphis Zoo and Oxford Mississippi, eat GREAT
food, relax and let the kids play! We
had a genuine FABULOUS time!
Wednesday
We hit the road on Tuesday night so we could have a full day
on Wednesday. First thing on the list was
a visit to the Memphis Zoo, the weather was excellent and the animals were very
active, the kids really enjoyed watching the animals play and relax in the warm
sun. It wasn’t crowded, so there were no
lines to stand in to see exhibits. The Memphis
Zoo is the perfect size to enjoy in one day.

Buddies - had a great time at the zoo! |
Wednesday night Pops and GiGi helped the kids make their own
pizza. They had a ball! Each child had ½ of a pizza in which they
could top with a plethora of toppings.
They had so much fun topping it then sliding it into the oven and
anxiously awaiting for the timer to go off.

Thursday
We headed to Oxford, Mississippi to pay tribute to
Ole Miss and a quick visit to Aunt Elsie and Uncle Eddy. They have a beautiful home not far from Ole
Miss campus. It was nice to finally meet
Amy’s extended family, I had heard so much about. We ate at the Pizza Den, which is not only
known for their pizza but for their roast beef sandwiches and Stromboli as
well. YUMMY!!! I ate myself sick!!

Then back to Memphis for a steak dinner! Right?!
Like I needed more food, but boy…just look at my plate-DELISH! Pops grilled, GiGi ‘threw’ together the rest –for
me, I would have had to plan it to make it look like that!

DELISHOUS! |
Friday
Friday morning we went downtown to LIT, a wholesale
restaurant store. OH MY GOSH, I AM IN
LOVE!! You know I love gadgets…well;
this is the kitchen super gadget store.
Anything and everything you could ever imagine and then some is at this
store, and reasonably priced!!! So I had
to pick up a few things for GiGi’s. We
then headed to William Sonoma outlet store.
Another store that I can simply go wild in! But I controlled myself this time. Saturday night we just hung out, it was absolutely beautiful weather and the kids played. Before bed Miss Amy treated the kids to a movie.

Saturday
The Easter Bunny visited GiGi and Pops-the
kids went crazy wild Saturday morning. Running from egg
to egg screaming and giggling with delight.
They had a FABULOUS time…well, except the picture below is of Kennedi
crying-one of her eggs fell apart, and well you know that would make her come
apart! But after she settled down, she
decided the Easter Bunny was pretty cool!

The whole hunting gang! Kennedi not so happy! |
It was sad to end the trip. Memphis is a slower pace and so relaxing and beautiful. Pops is a FABULOUS Gardner.
The grounds around the house are in bloom and simply GORG-WAH.
